Description

The Committee’s purpose is to oversee the Adult Internal Medicine Division Basic Training program nationally. More information is available in the Terms of Reference (TOR).

The College recognises that trainees, as future Fellows of the College, have a very important role in the College’s training programs. As such, the College involves trainees in all aspects of its complex governance as representatives of their fellow trainees.

Roles/responsibilities of Trainee Representatives include but are not limited to:

  • Commitment to regular attendance at meetings of the Committee
  • Providing trainee perspective to the issues of concern
  • Representing trainees’ interests
  • Advocating on behalf of trainees

The term of office is for 3 years. The Committee meets throughout the year, with 4 videoconferences, 1 face-to-face meeting in Sydney, and additional meetings as required. The representative will need to be available to attend the majority of these meetings and provide a Basic Trainee perspective. Travel and accommodation expenses will be provided for face to face meetings for out of town committee members as per the RACP Travel Policy.
