Managing Conflict, Addressing Incivility, and Promoting a Culture of Kindness in the Workplace
Date:
10 Dec 2025 at 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
This webinar is part of the RACP Wellbeing Advocates webinar series, which explores key aspects of doctor wellbeing and practical strategies for supporting doctors to build healthier workplaces and communities of care. In this session, we focus on how to manage conflict effectively, address incivility, and foster a workplace culture grounded in respect and kindness.
Conflict is a normal and sometimes healthy part of professional life, but when it becomes uncivil or disrespectful, it can undermine wellbeing, trust, and collaboration. Understanding the difference between conflict and incivility, and learning how to respond effectively, are critical skills for sustaining personal and organisational wellbeing.
In this interactive session, Dr Susannah Ward and Dr David Beaumont will facilitate a discussion with Dr Cheryl Martin and A/Prof Sandhya Limaye, exploring the relationship between wellbeing, communication, and civility in healthcare settings. Together, they will share practical approaches for managing interpersonal tensions, addressing unkind or disrespectful behaviour, and cultivating compassionate, respectful workplaces where doctors can thrive.
