On Monday 18 May 2026, the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), which regulates the RACP, notified the College that it would be intervening in the Governance of the RACP, due to the ACNC considering the RACP was not in compliance with ACNC Governance Standard Five.
On Friday 18 September 2026 the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission advised the College that the current suspension of Dr Sharmila Chandran as a Responsible Person of the RACP has been extended until 4 December 2026.
