About Monash Doctors

To help grow your career, there are more than 1,900 Junior Doctors and 1,700 Senior Doctors at Monash Health across more than 200 medical specialties. We offer unparalleled opportunities in Victoria’s largest and most clinically diverse teaching health service.

About the role

The Medical Oncology Clinical Trials Fellow (Lung/MPCCC Precision Medicine, Breast/GU, GI/Gynae and Phase 1) will be a key member of a busy and large academic medical oncology unit based at the Clayton campus of Monash Health.

The Fellow will provide clinical care to patients enrolled in Phase I, Phase II and Phase III cancer clinical trials across their tumour stream portfolio. Trials clinics will be conducted at MHTP, where the Fellow will be expected to actively participate.

The Fellow will also be expected to engage in translational research, with opportunities for:

  • Writing manuscripts
  • Participating in research projects
  • Attending national and international conferences
  • Developing clinical trial protocols

The Fellow will assist with administration relating to the collection and presentation of metrics for the Clinical Trials Unit.

The Fellow will participate in the after-hours on-call service as first on call.

The on-call role is largely telephone-based; however, there is an infrequent requirement to attend high-acuity patients at the Moorabbin campus or, occasionally, the Emergency Department at the Clayton campus.

Participation in clinical meetings will include:

  • Case presentations
  • Journal article reviews
  • Topic presentations
