Consultant Pain Medicine Physician | Non-Interventional | Fibromyalgia, Hypermobility Disorders, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome
Flexible Contract or Part-Time Employment (0.5 to 2 days per week)
Remuneration: $400 to $800 per hour (variable based on appointment length)
biio. is an integrated multidisciplinary clinical service for patients with complex, overlapping and often invisible illness.
Our pathways support patients with central sensitisation, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain, and the chronic pain phenotypes that sit at the intersection of hypermobility and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS/HSD), dysautonomia and headache.
We are seeking a Pain Medicine Physician (FFPMANZCA or equivalent) to act as the pathway's specialist medical anchor for pain, working primarily with central sensitisation, fibromyalgia and connective-tissue-related pain.
The role focuses on structured pain-phenotype assessment, diagnostic synthesis, and a management plan that accounts for central, connective-tissue, autonomic and neurological drivers together.
Before each consultation, structured intake assessment, validated screening tools, medication history, prior interventional records and imaging are collated in a single integrated digital workspace.
You will work alongside biio.'s rheumatology, psychology, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, GP and nurse practitioner team.
Care coordination and correspondence are handled by the support team.
Engagement is via contractor agreement with flexible sessional commitment.
Essential qualifications
- FFPMANZCA (Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, ANZCA) or equivalent
- Current AHPRA specialist registration in the relevant scope of practice
- Eligibility to practice in Australia
