Description

The Medical Oncology Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital is recruiting for suitable Advanced Trainee for 2027.

The position would also suit trainees in palliative medicine & general medicine - potentially meeting accredited core training in Medical Oncology.

The Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day management of public inpatients and outpatients within the Royal Hobart Hospital and provides first on call cover for the Medical Oncology unit. Required to do infrequent shifts covering the emergency met calls at the hospital.

Salary

$138,978 - $194,675 per annum

Salary range is in accordance with the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2025.

Period of employment

Fixed term, full-time day work, working 76 hours per fortnight (+10 hours protected training time per fortnight, pro rata), commencing from 1 February 2027 until 7 February 2028.

Note: part-time hours negotiable.

Essential qualifications

  • Registration or eligible for Registration with the Medical Board of Australia 
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)
