The Hospital@home program sits within the Department of Sub-acute, Aged & Community Services and provides care to a range of medical, surgical and sub-specialty patients who require medical management that can be delivered in the community environment.
Our case mix and the age of our patients is broad. Greater than 60% of our patients are admitted directly from the community, avoiding the hospital entirely. The rest are admitted from the Royal Hobart Hospital, both inpatient wards and the emergency department.
These patients are then cared for in community health centres, their homes, or residential aged care facilities.
Our Hospital@home Registrar positions have accreditation with RACP for Basic Physician Training; RACP & ACRRM for GP & Rural Remote trainees; and ACEM for Emergency trainees.
