Description
Step into early-phase and first-in-human Phase I clinical trials as a Medical Officer (Sub-Investigator).
You'll work alongside an experienced team of investigators, coordinators, nurses and pharmacists at an established Melbourne trials unit, providing high-quality medical care to participants.
This is a genuine mid-to-long-term career move into clinical research, not a short stopover, and no prior trials experience is needed: full training is provided.
What you'll do
- Lead informed consent, eligibility assessment, participant safety and adverse-event review
- Act as Sub-Investigator on delegated studies, and as Principal Investigator on healthy-volunteer studies when delegated
- Conduct medical histories, physical examinations and review of screening results
- Manage participants throughout their time on study, prescribing within scope
- Contribute to a safe, high-quality and compliant trials operation
The details
- Salary $126,669 to $155,027, set by PGY level (PGY3 to PGY8)
- Full-time, part-time or casual
- Shifts across a 7:00am to 10:00pm window: clinic floor (for example, 7:00am to 3:00pm or 2:00pm to 10:00pm) or screening (8:00am to 4:00pm)
- Some on-call, around 1 weekend in 2
Essential qualifications
- Full AHPRA registration
- PGY3+ (minimum 2 years post-registration experience)
- Sound clinical judgement and strong attention to detail
- A commitment to building a career in clinical research
