Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and suitably qualified General Medicine Physician to join the medical team at Goulburn Base Hospital, part of the Inland Network.
Goulburn Base Hospital is a 100-bed facility that moved into a purpose-built Clinical Services Building in December 2021 with a new state of the art Level 4 Emergency Department, a Level 4 ICU and new Operating Theatres. Our ED sees approximately 20,000 presentations per year with a 25% admission rate. The ED workforce is staffed with Senior, Permanent and Casual CMOs. The ICU is staffed with Senior, Permanent and Casual CMO's. Goulburn ED has 2 resuscitation beds, 6 acute beds (including 2 isolation rooms), a fast-track area and 4 bedded SSU. There are new Paediatric, General Medical and Surgical Wards with purpose built negative flow areas and a Rehabilitation Ward. Services provided include 24/7 Emergency Care, General Medicine, General and Orthopaedic Surgery, Paediatrics, Maternity and Rehabilitation Medicine.
You'll be employed by Southern NSW Local Health District. The position is primarily located at Goulburn Hospital. Secondary appointments within other facilities may occur by mutual agreement.
Essential qualifications
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Physician or equivalent overseas qualification (Internal Medicine) either eligible for Expedited Specialist Pathway or substantially comparable on the RACP Specialist IMG Pathway
- Demonstrated current clinical experience in General / Acute / Internal Medicine at an appropriate level
- Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance principles including the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards in Australia
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide effective leadership
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, clinical research, simulation and quality improvement
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff; and effective communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
