Description
Remuneration: $750–$1,000 per hour ($500 per consult).
biio. is an integrated multidisciplinary clinical service providing structured diagnostic assessment for patients with hereditary connective tissue disorders, including hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD).
We are seeking Rheumatologists to work as Specialist Diagnostic Consultants within a defined diagnostic pathway.
The role focuses on diagnostic assessment and clinical reasoning, supported by a comprehensive pre-consultation workup, including:
- Validated screening tools
- Specialist physiotherapy assessment
- Relevant pathology
- Red-flag checklists
- Genetic testing where indicated
All information is available within a single integrated digital workspace.
You will complete:
- 1:1 consultations (30–60 minutes)
- Diagnostic synthesis
- Confirmation or exclusion of hEDS/HSD and relevant differentials
- A concise diagnostic summary
Ongoing management is undertaken by an established multidisciplinary team, with no expectation of longitudinal care unless you choose it.
Engagement is via contractor agreement with flexible sessional commitment.
Essential qualifications
- FRACP with specialty training in Rheumatology
- Current AHPRA specialist registration as a rheumatologist
- Eligibility to practise in Australia
