Description

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is seeking an exceptional clinical leader for the critical role of Senior Medical Director – Acute, Medicine and Cancer Services.

Operating across our expanding cross-campus public healthcare network, this senior position provides an unparalleled opportunity to influence regional healthcare delivery across the Hume Local Health Service Network (HLHSN) footprint, spanning North-East Victoria and Southern New South Wales. This appointment occurs during a progressive period of service expansion.

Please note that this position is part of an ongoing change consultation process being performed in accordance with Clause 9 of the Medical Specialists (Victorian Public Health Sector) (AMA Victoria/ASMOF) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2022–2026, and it may be subject to variation as an outcome of that consultation process.

The successful applicant will actively participate as a collaborative party to this consultative mechanism, enjoying unique strategic opportunities to advise on, adapt, and refine the definitive scope and structural elements of the position description. This is a remarkably unique opportunity to co-design and genuinely shape an important, emerging executive-interface role within our rapidly growing healthcare service.

As an integral appointee within the AWH Senior Leadership Team, you'll serve as the premier executive interface on behalf of Clinical Directors within the Directorate of Acute, Medicine and Cancer Services. Working in collaboration with the General Manager, the Chief Medical Officer, and the Chief Operating Officer, you'll bridge the administrative executive floor and our medical departments to ensure consensus-driven delivery and clinical leadership development.
