Your opportunity

Provide high-quality, expert clinical services as the lead of the Interim Care Model of Care, and as part of the Fraser Coast Integrated Care Service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Interim Care Service within Integrated Care Services.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care and patient review meetings to support safe, timely discharge planning.
• Provide clinical governance, patient advocacy, and oversight of service delivery.
• Supervise, mentor, and support junior medical staff, trainees, and students.
• Drive quality improvement, clinical audit, risk management, and patient safety initiatives.
• Manage staff performance, development, and professional standards.
• Maintain high-quality clinical documentation, discharge summaries, and communication.
• Foster collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to research, teaching, service development, and innovation.
• Uphold ethical practice, cultural safety, human rights, and Queensland Health values.

In addition to the key responsibilities, the role of the Senior Medical Officer is to provide such services as may be reasonably directed from time to time by the Professional or Operational Manager.
