Working within ACC's newly established Chief Clinical Office, you will bring together surveillance, epidemiology, clinical governance, health intelligence, prevention design and sector partnerships to support better outcomes for New Zealanders.

About the role

PAs our Strategic Clinical Advisor - Public Health, you will provide senior public health and system leadership to reduce treatment-related harm by strengthening treatment safety, learning, prevention and partnership across the health system.

You will work across agencies and clinical networks to influence system-wide change, strengthen treatment safety, and improve health outcomes for New Zealanders.

About you

This is a rare opportunity for a senior Public Health Medicine Specialist to provide senior public health leadership across treatment safety, clinical governance and injury prevention to help shape how treatment-related harm is prevented across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Salary information

The appointing salary for this role is expected to be up to $245,036 based on experience.

Essential qualifications

  • Vocational registration in Public Health Medicine and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Significant expertise in public health medicine, epidemiology, surveillance and health intelligence.
  • Experience working across health sector organisations, clinical networks or government agencies.
  • Strong understanding of treatment safety, clinical governance, quality improvement and system stewardship.
  • Ability to translate complex evidence, data and clinical issues into practical strategic advice.
  • Proven influencing and stakeholder management experience at a senior level.
  • Strong systems thinking, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving equitable outcomes for Māori and priority populations.
  • You must hold New Zealand work rights at the time of application.
