Description
The Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM) is seeking a Fellow with experience in stroke rehabilitation to represent the Faculty on the
Australian Stroke Coalition (ASC) National Stroke Rehabilitation Taskforce.
The Taskforce brings together national experts to address gaps in stroke rehabilitation and develop a coordinated national plan to improve equity, quality, and access to rehabilitation services.
AFRM Representative Role
The AFRM representative will provide expertise in stroke rehabilitation and contribute the Faculty perspective to national strategies, standards, and models of care.
The representative will participate in meetings and working groups, and report back to AFRM as required.
Eligibility
- AFRM Fellow
- Experience in stroke rehabilitation
- Ability to contribute to national-level planning, workforce discussions, and quality improvement initiatives
- Commitment to best-practice rehabilitation and equitable access to care
Key Responsibilities
- Represent AFRM and contribute specialist rehabilitation expertise to Taskforce discussions
- Participate in developing national models of care, workforce recommendations, data systems, and quality standards
- Engage in Taskforce working groups relevant to your expertise (optional but encouraged)
- Provide feedback and updates to AFRM on Taskforce progress
- Collaborate with clinical networks, professional bodies, and individuals with lived experience.
- Attend 2 videoconference meetings per year
- Attend 1 face-to-face meeting per year (hybrid option available), ideally aligned with a major national conference
- Additional working group meetings may occur as required
- A proxy may be nominated if unable to attend a scheduled meeting
