AICD-AIHE Foundations of Directorship Health Variant

This 4-day program provides current and aspiring healthcare leaders and medical practitioners with a comprehensive overview of the key components of health board directorship.
Enabled by an exciting partnership between the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and the Australian Institute of Health Executives (AIHE), this is the first board governance course developed specifically for the healthcare sector.
The program is comprised of 4 one-day courses, available either online or face-to-face, and includes:
- Governance
- Risk and Strategy
- Finance
- Clinical Governance for Directors
On completion of the first 3 days of the program, participants will receive the
AICD Foundations of Directorship™ Certificate.
On completion of the 4th day of the program, participants will receive the
AIHE Clinical Governance for Board Directors Certificate.
Upon completion of the program, you will be able to:
- identify the duties and responsibilities of a healthcare director
- outline governance and board meeting processes
- outline the director’s role in evaluating financial statements
- identify the director’s role in formulating and monitoring strategy, and identifying and assessing risk
- understand the director’s role in ensuring robust clinical governance across the healthcare organisation
- recognise the link between corporate strategy, clinical governance and financial performance
