Safer, healthier workplaces for doctors

The NSW Government has announced it is investing $5.4 million in a new national centre, Mentally Healthy Workplaces Australia (MHWA). The centre will drive evidence-based solutions for workplace psychological health and safety.

But what does this mean for you?

  • Evidence-based programs to improve workplace psychological health and wellbeing
  • Stronger protections against psychological harm at work
  • Reduced absenteeism and better return-to-work outcomes
  • A focus on safer, more productive healthcare workplaces

This centre will co-design strategies across government, industry, and academia – backed by $344 million in broader workplace mental health funding.

It’s a win for doctors and patients – and something the RACP has strongly advocated for in our 2025 Federal Election statement (page five)
