Gender care

In February 2025, we met to discuss the current statement by the RACP regarding gender care. This was particularly important considering recent Government activities, reviews, and publications.
We support all our paediatric, adolescent, and adult medicine physicians and trainees working to support young people and their families at this challenging time. The RACP would like to acknowledge the difficulties encountered. We support your continued work in this complex space to deliver the best care you are able to for your patients.
We are aware the National Health and Medical Research Centre has been requested to develop new national guidelines. The RACP supports this process and is pleased to see the government respond to our previous advice on this.
Please read our correspondence provided to the Queensland Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, the Hon Timothy Nicholls MP.
