Share your Aotearoa New Zealand training experiences in the 2026 Torohia

The Torohia Medical Training Survey is now open.

All doctors-in-training in Aotearoa New Zealand, including RACP trainees, are encouraged to take part and share their experiences.

The survey is open until Monday, 28 September 2026.

Why your feedback matters

Led by Te Kaunihera Rata o Aotearoa | Medical Council of New Zealand, the Torohia Medical Training Survey provides an important opportunity for trainees to help shape the future of medical education and training in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Each year, survey responses provide valuable insights into the experiences of doctors-in-training, highlighting what's working well and where improvements are needed. These findings help inform ongoing efforts to strengthen training environments, enhance supervision and learning opportunities, support trainee wellbeing, foster positive workplace cultures and support trainee retention.

How to access the survey

Eligible trainees in accredited training programmes will receive a unique survey link via email from Te Kaunihera Rata o Aotearoa | Medical Council of New Zealand.
