It Pays to Care

Addressing psychosocial workplace claims and management is so important for workers and workplaces. This is why we developed the It Pays to Care policy and evidence-based approach. Developed with our expert physicians, It Pays to Care highlights why better return to work and recovery outcomes are important for everyone.

System approaches that prevent or lessen psychosocial factors can reduce work disability and its associated costs by 25 to 50 per cent. We need to reduce system-induced barriers to recovery and return to work. We must improve the way psychosocial risk factors for prolonged work disability are identified and managed in work injury schemes.

The recent push by NSW Premier Chris Minns to address rising stress-related compensation claims highlights the need for better management of psychosocial risks in the workplace. This aligns with our It Pays to Care policy, which focuses on reducing work disability by tackling psychosocial factors early.
