Improving access to specialist care across Victoria

Last week, President-elect Dr Julian Kelly, PCHD President Dr Niroshini Kennedy, College Dean Associate Professor Kudzai Kanhutu and Dr Raj Khillan met with Victorian Minister for Health Ingrid Stitt MP. They discussed key priorities for Victorian physicians ahead of the November state election.

A key focus was the need to ensure all Victorians can access timely, high-quality specialist care. This includes investing in public inpatient and outpatient services, strengthening the specialist workforce across regional and rural Victoria, and supporting more collaborative models of care.

We welcomed the opportunity to share these priorities with the Minister and look forward to continuing to work with the Victorian Government to improve access to specialist healthcare across the state.
