In October we wrote to the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQHC) providing input to its revised National Model for Clinical Governance so that it better balances physicians’ interests, responsibilities and working configurations while reducing duplication and inefficient compliance processes.
Our feedback called for protections against misuse of clinical governance processes, and ensuring adequate staffing, supervision, and culturally safe environments for quality clinical governance processes. We also emphasised the need for integrated care and collaborative commissioning, promotion of value-based care, and the need to highlight the emerging challenges of artificial intelligence for clinical governance.
