ANZCA has officially launched its 10-week pilot of a course in perioperative medicine. You can read about it in the September 2023 Perioperative Medicine Communique.

Fourteen participants from hospitals across Australia and New Zealand have commenced the first of six units of study as part of the 10-week pilot and already there has been valuable feedback.

Over 300 leaders in perioperative medicine have applied for the course including 46 from the RACP through ANZCA's recognition pathways process, with 217 applications approved.

We’d like to remind all Fellows who are leaders in perioperative medicine that applications for the course recognition process will close on 1 December 2023. Please submit your applications before the deadline to be a part of this transformative initiative in perioperative medicine.

Note: On 10 November 2023, ANZCA announced that participants completing the ANZCA course in Perioperative Medicine will become a graduate of the Chapter of Perioperative Medicine of ANZCA – GChPeriopMed (ANZCA).  The GChPeriopMed (ANZCA) will replace what we have to date referred to as the Diploma of Perioperative Medicine.
