We're seeking an internationally recognised leader in child health with a distinguished record in clinical practice, research and academic leadership. You'll be reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Monash Health and the Dean, Sub Faculty of Clinical and Molecular Medicine, Monash University.
Monash Children’s Hospital is one of Victoria’s two tertiary paediatric services and Australia’s third largest children’s hospital, delivering comprehensive care across hospital, community and home based settings.
As part of Monash Health, Victoria’s largest public health service, it provides end to end care from conception through to adulthood. Monash University’s Department of Paediatrics is a leading academic centre within a globally recognised Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
The Department leads a vibrant, multidisciplinary research and education program supported by strong partnerships with the Hudson Institute of Medical Research, the Ritchie Centre and Monash Health. Together, this creates a powerful integrated platform for translational impact from discovery through to clinical implementation and community outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic, clinical and operational leadership of Monash Children’s Hospital while leading the academic direction of child health across Monash University.
- Deliver excellence in quality, safety and patient experience
- Lead a high performing multidisciplinary workforce, and drive research growth, academic excellence and international reputation
- Build strong partnerships across health services, research institutes, government and industry, and position Monash Children’s Hospital and the Department of Paediatrics as globally recognised leaders in paediatric care and research.
Essential qualifications
- Demonstrate specialist registration or eligibility and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or international equivalent
- A doctoral qualification and an internationally competitive research profile
- Strong track record of research leadership and funding success
- Proven executive leadership experience within a complex environment and ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and influence at senior and system levels
