The program offers accredited positions in Hobart, as well as in Launceston and Burnie.
Positions are accredited for core General Paediatrics and rural General Paediatrics with a perinatal component.
The Community Paediatric and Paediatric Rehabilitation Medicine rotations are also accredited for developmental/ psychosocial training.
‘Stream’ positions are available to offer trainees a guaranteed 3-year position in which time they complete all advanced training requirements.
Accredited sub-speciality advanced training positions are available in Community Child Health, Neonatal and Perinatal Medicine and Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine.

- 1 x General Paediatric Senior Registrar AT
- 1 x Paediatric Rehabilitation Medicine AT
- 1 x Adolescent Medicine AT (accredited for adolescent Medicine)
- 3 x Community and Child Health AT (accredited for community/developmental and community paediatrics)
- 4 x Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care AT
- 2 x NPICU AT/Senior Registrar
- 2 x Transport Registrar
Salary
$134,930 - $189,005 per annum
Classification
Medical Practitioner Level 5-11
Period of Employment
Fixed term, full time day work working 76 hours per fortnight (+10 hours protected training time) commencing from 1 February 2026 until 7 February 2028.
Essential qualifications
- General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
