Description
In 2028, it will be 40 years since the Australasian College of Venereology was founded.
We're inviting expressions of interest from people who would like to contribute to a history project documenting the College and Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine’s (AChSHM) rich and diverse story.
Over the past 4 decades, the Chapter has been shaped by the dedication, achievements and experiences of its members. We're seeking to capture these stories to create a lasting record of the Chapter’s history and its impact on research, teaching, professional practice and the wider community.
We're looking for members who:
- were involved in the founding of the Australasian College of Venereology and/or the Australasian Chapter of Sexual Health Medicine
- have memories, stories, photographs, documents, publications or other materials that reflect the College and/or Chapter's history
- would be willing to participate in an interview, oral history recording, or witness seminar
- have contributed to significant milestones, programs, projects, events or achievements within the College/Chapter
- represent diverse experiences and perspectives across different decades of the College/Chapter's history.
What does participation involve?
Participants may be invited to:
- share memories and experiences through an interview
- provide photographs, documents or memorabilia for digitisation
- assist in identifying significant events, people and milestones
- review historical information and contribute additional context.
Why get involved?
Your experiences are an important part of the College/Chapter story. By sharing your memories, you'll help preserve the history for future generations and ensure that the people, achievements and moments that have shaped the Chapter are remembered and celebrated.
