Description
The AOHSEAB is an independent group within the AIHS that accredits OHS programs at Australian universities and supports the quality and relevance of the OHS professional education and the OHS Body of Knowledge.
- Term: 3 years, with potential renewal
- Status: Honorary, non‑executive
- Time commitment: 40-60 hours per year (meetings, preparation and panel work)
As the AFOEM Representative, you'll be a full member of the AOHSEAB and contribute your professional expertise, rather than acting as a delegate bound to a specific organisational position.
Key responsibilities
- attending and actively participating in AOHSEAB quarterly meetings
- providing specialist occupational and environmental medicine input to:
- review of OHS curricula and accreditation submissions
- consideration of health, clinical and psychosocial content within programs
- participating in Assessment and/or Review Panels for program accreditation as required
- contributing to discussion on the OHS Body of Knowledge, particularly medical and health‑related topics
- maintaining liaison with AFOEM on matters of mutual interest, while exercising independent judgment at Board level
