The term for this casual vacancy will start immediately following confirmation of appointment and will conclude at the RACP AGM in May 2026, in line with the College election cycle.

The AFOEM Regional Committee advises the AFOEM Council of matters relevant to the Faculty in the region, promotes occupational and environmental medicine in the region and offers opportunities for continuous professional development (CPD) for Faculty Fellows.

About you

• AFOEM Fellow
• living in the region
• be familiar with the RACP’s Constitution, AFOEM Regional Committee’s Terms of Reference, AFOEM By-laws, the RACP Strategic Plan, and the AFOEM strategic and business plans
• experience leading and understanding how organisations are managed
• knowledge of medical education in the region
• a positive, cooperative attitude and strong ethical standards
• strong organisational and administrative skills
• commitment to quality improvement and ongoing development

Core responsibilities 

• attend AFOEM Regional Committee meetings
• help the committee work together harmoniously and stay productive
• ensure good governance of the AFOEM
• assist the Chair in aligning regional goals with the broader RACP Strategic Plan
• help identify and address new issues affecting AFOEM in the region
• respond promptly to requests for input or reports from the AFOEM Council and other committees
• follow RACP policies, including those on preventing discrimination and harassment
