The Assessment Committee (CAC) is the lead committee for assessment functions across RACP training programs. It acts as the expert body for assessment, develops standards and policy, and ensures high-quality practices through the consistent application of established RACP assessment standards and processes across training programs.
The Committee provides direction on quality improvement across examinations and work-based assessments, oversees governance of assessment, advises on assessment blueprints, reviews assessment subcommittees, and monitors risks and issues relating to assessment. The Committee meets up to 4 times per year, with 1 in-person meeting held in Sydney.
The Aotearoa New Zealand Representative is responsible for providing perspectives and advice to the Assessment Committee that reflects the context of Aotearoa New Zealand, including alignment with local regulatory frameworks, health priorities, and training environments. This representatives will bring a New Zealand lens to assessment practices, ensuring that processes and content appropriately reflect the binational nature of the College and support equitable outcomes for all trainees.
In this role, the representative will help ensure that assessment design, delivery, and review reflect the unique healthcare system, cultural context and training experiences of Aotearoa New Zealand trainees. They'll also promote consideration of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles within assessment processes and provide insight into the evolving medical education landscape across New Zealand.
Applicants should be:
- a fellow of the RACP based in Aotearoa New Zealand
- have a strong understanding of RACP training programs and assessment processes
Experience in assessment, education or involvement in RACP training activities will be highly regarded.
The position will be appointed for an initial term of 3 years, with opportunity for renewal.
