Description

One of the main roles of the Committee is to monitor and assess individual trainee progress in PEM across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

There's currently 1 Fellow position vacant on the Committee.

This is a great opportunity for Fellows who are willing to support current PEM Advanced Trainees and the PEM training program.

In this role, you'll help shape the physicians of the future and positively contribute to the direction, workforce and culture of PEM in both Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

You'll be involved in reviewing and monitoring of the training program requirements, assessment and curricula in consultation with other RACP Fellows and Fellows of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • monitor training of and provide support to supervisors in PEM
  • assess applications for recognition of prior learning
  • advise on matters relating to Overseas Trained Physicians
  • modify individual training requirements, as appropriate, in accordance with College policies and procedures
  • assess and provide advice on specialist recognition in PEM for Fellows of the Paediatric and Child Health Division who have not completed the PEM Advanced Training program.

Meetings are held 3 times per year with 1 meeting held face-to-face.

Members are appointed to the Committee for an initial 3-year term with the option to renew for a further term.
