About the project

The Supervisor Professional Development Program (SPDP) Content Redesign is a College initiative to modernise the mandatory supervisor training program in response to AMC accreditation requirements and recommendations from the 2024 SPDP Evaluation Outcomes Report. The project will consolidate SPDP 1, 2 and 3 into a future-ready program comprising a mandatory core course, 5-yearly refresher and ongoing Supervisor Hub community of practice. The redesign will embed contemporary supervisory practice and cultural safety throughout the program, supporting supervisors to develop the skills and capabilities needed to effectively support trainees.

About the role

If you're an RACP member and have:

  • ability, expertise and interest in supervisor training program design and development
  • knowledge of or interest in the current state of the supervisor program at the College
  • experience actively participating as a member of a committee or working group (RACP committee or similar)
  • capacity to commit to the time commitment

We invite you to submit an expression of interest for SPDP Specialist Contractor.

The Specialist Contractor will:

  • assess the current supervisor training program and make recommendations for improvements
  • design, develop and deliver draft content within project deadlines, including but not limited to:
    • learning objectives
    • online learning module content and participant resources
    • video scripts and accompanying presentation materials
    • activity instructions
    • case studies, reflective exercises, and discussion forum prompts
    • assessment and evaluation activities
    • recommendations for multimedia and interactive learning approaches
    • areas of particular interest or expertise
  • review the draft redesigned supervisor training program consultation feedback and make changes in response to stakeholder feedback.

You'll receive support from the SPDP project team throughout the development period and Working Group validation process, to ensure that modifications to your drafts are applied in line with the Working Group’s consensus feedback. Upon delivery of your final drafts, you'll receive a $2,500 honorarium for your work.

Time commitment

The estimated time required of members in this group between August 2026 and July 2027 may include:

  • 1 face-to-face kick off session in Sydney (August - September)
  • 9 x 1-hour virtual monthly working group meetings
  • 22 hours of virtual weekly meetings with RACP project staff
  • 60 hours of out of session development work

Time spent as a specialist contractor for this project may be claimed as CPD under Category 1: Education Activities, as the work contributes to professional learning through the development, review and enhancement of educational resources and content.
