Professor Peter Ebeling presents Cardiovascular safety with osteoporosis pharmacotherapy brought to you by Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society (ANZBMS).  

Professor Peter Ebeling AO, FAHMS is an endocrinologist and Head of the Department of Medicine, and Head of the School of Clinical Sciences at Monash University, as well as Chair of the Division of Medicine at Monash Health.

He was also the inaugural Director of the Australian Institute of Musculoskeletal Science. In 2015, he was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for distinguished service to bone health, and in 2022, he became a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences. Professor Ebeling has held numerous international leadership roles, including serving on the ASBMR Council from 2011-2014 and 2017-2023, and as its first non-North American President (2021-2022), and as a current IOF Board member. He is Editor-in-Chief of Bone and was the inaugural Editor-in-Chief of Bone Reports and JBMR Plus, and Editor of Clinical Endocrinology (Oxf.).

In 2024, he was awarded the IOF President’s Award and the ASBMR Frederic C. Bartter Award for outstanding contributions to clinical investigation. Research interests include vitamin D; atypical femur fractures; rare bone diseases; post-transplantation osteoporosis; and osteoporosis in men.

He is also Chair of the Board of Healthy Bones Australia; Past-President of the Endocrine Society of Australia; and Past-President of the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society. He was on the Australian National Health and Research Council (NHMRC) Research Committee from 2015-2018. He has over 565 peer-reviewed publications with over 38,300 citations and an h-index of 97, and teaches and mentors medical students, and supervises several Research Higher Degree students and post-doctoral Fellows.
