Australian Institute of Health Executives (AIHE)

A new 6-day program exclusively for healthcare boards and directors, offered through the partnership between the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and the Australian Institute of Health Executives (AIHE).

The first healthcare board governance program in Australia where you can attain dual post-nominals: the GAICD and the GAIHE.

It combines Australia's renowned AICD Company Directors Course™ for current, first-time or aspiring directors, senior executives, business leaders and board advisors, with the AIHE Clinical Governance for Directors™ course, developed exclusively by healthcare leaders.

The program covers all the key areas you need to understand as a healthcare board director.

Using contemporary case studies and expert facilitators from healthcare backgrounds, the program covers the roles, duties and responsibilities of healthcare board directors, including:

  • legal governance
  • financial governance
  • risk management
  • strategy
  • clinical governance.

On each of the 5 AICD days, you will take part in interactive working sessions facilitated by an experienced director, alongside a group of peers who are also committed to improving their director skills and capabilities.

The sixth AIHE day is facilitated by practising, published medical specialists with extensive experience in clinical governance and healthcare boards across the public and private sectors.

Using relevant case studies, the session helps you understand the practical aspects of healthcare directorship in an immersive learning environment with a group of peer healthcare leaders.

The AIHE day can also be purchased separately by those who have already attained the GAICD and want additional board-level training in clinical governance.
