AICD-AIHE 4-Day Foundations of Directorship™ for Healthcare Leaders

This 4-day program provides aspiring healthcare directors with a comprehensive overview of the main components of health board directorship.

Developed through a collaboration between the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and the Australian Institute of Health Executives (AIHE), the Foundations of Directorship™ for Healthcare Leaders program is designed for aspiring and new healthcare directors.

The program is made up of 4 1-day courses:

• Governance for Directors
• Risk and Strategy for Directors
• Finance for Directors
• Clinical Governance Foundations.

On completion of the first 3 days of the program, participants receive the AICD Foundations of Directorship™ Certificate.

On completion of the fourth day, participants receive the AIHE Clinical Governance Foundations Certificate.

The 4 1-day courses can be purchased individually or as a package at a discounted rate.

Day 2: Risk and Strategy for Directors

• Risk: issues for directors
• Introduction to the strategic role of the director

Day 3: Finance for Directors

• Introduction to financial statements for directors
• Assessing financial performance for directors

• Introduction to clinical governance for directors
• How to know your hospital is safe: for directors
