Webinar: Trainee and Supervisor – Self-Care, Safety and Support

Join us for the second webinar in our 4-part 2026 Wellbeing Advocates series  Trainee and Supervisor Wellbeing: Practical Strategies for Self-Care, Psychological Safety and Team Support – on Monday, 6 July 2026, 4pm to 5pm (AEST).

Through case examples and shared insights, the session will explore common challenges in training settings, as well as practical approaches to communication, peer support, and maintaining wellbeing in demanding clinical environments.

The interactive session will be led by Dr Susannah Ward, Chair, Member Health and Wellbeing Committee (MHWC) and Dr David Beaumont, Deputy Chair, MHWC, with a panel comprising the following speakers:

  • Dr Sabine Hennel – Paediatrician and Paediatric Rehabilitation Doctor, Monash Children’s Hospital, and PCHD representative on the MHWC
  • Dr Aidan Tan – Paediatric Registrar and Deputy Chief Resident Medical Officer, Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, and trainee representative on the MHWC

Participants will gain practical tools and strategies to support their own wellbeing, strengthen relationships with colleagues, and contribute to a more supportive and respectful training culture. 

The webinar will be held online and will run for approximately one hour. It will conclude with a Q&A session and an opportunity to reflect on how the strategies discussed can be applied in everyday practice.
