Patient end support services

Physicians in private practice across Australia, you now have a clearer pathway to connect directly into primary care for your ongoing patients.
Following new MBS items introduced in March, GPs and nurse practitioners can consult with you while the patient is physically present in a primary care setting. This enables more coordinated, real-time physician input when it is needed most.
To participate in an MBS Patient-End-Support consultation:
- Use your existing subsequent physician video consultation MBS item
- Join a Patient-End-Support consultation initiated from primary care, per request of the NP or GP
- Provide advice, contribute to assessment, or support management plan review for your ongoing patients.
This brings physicians into local care settings without requiring continuing patients to navigate complex care pathways. Our advocacy continues to focus on making these connections easier, more routine, and better supported across the system.
