ACNC final report released
Date published:
20 Dec 2019
Dear Members,
Effective Governance, appointed by the Board under the Voluntary Compliance Agreement with the ACNC, has now delivered its final report to the Board.
The 47-page report sets out Effective Governance’s recommendations for improving the governance of the College.

As the Report has only just been delivered, the Board has not yet had the opportunity to formally consider all 178 recommendations for action, along with releasing it to members within the required 7 days.
But based on the discussions had with Effective Governance during the process most of the recommendations are not seen as being contentious.
We expect to see them being implemented over the course of the next 12 months and in fact some have already been actioned.
Effective Governance will be monitoring how its recommendations are being implemented during 2020 and will be reporting that to the ACNC and the membership.
Some of the recommendations (for example, those relating to possible Constitutional reform) will require deeper consideration and discussion within the College to determine the best way forward.
Please note that the College will be closed from 24 December and reopening on 2 January 2020, but if you have any questions outside that period please contact memberservices@racp.edu.au
Yours sincerely,
Associate Professor Mark Lane, President
Royal Australasian College of Physicians
