We're seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from Fellows of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM) in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand to become an accreditor. Your application and supporting documentation should align with your experience and educational background to become an Occupational and Environmental Medicine Accreditor. The expansion of our Accreditor pool will play a crucial role in providing oversight and support for accreditation processes, ensuring that Training Standards are maintained and improved. This initiative positions us to better meet the needs of Trainees and ultimately contribute to higher quality healthcare outcomes in our communities across both regions.

As part of your commitment as an Accreditor, you'll be eligible to claim CPD Points upon successful assessment of a document review. Document reviews on average take 1 hour to complete depending on the setting and the amount of supporting documentation provided.

Responsibilities

As an Occupational and Environmental Medicine Accreditor, you'll:

  • review all relevant accreditation documentation submitted by the setting
  • complete and make contributions towards the completion of the Site Accreditation Report
  • provide recommendations to the Training Program Committee (TPC) in Occupational and Environmental Medicine of an accreditation decision and findings for consideration
  • liaise with RACP College staff regarding Accreditation matters

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the role, you must:

  1. be a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM)
  1. have at least 2 years of specialist experience 
  1. have participated in a medical education program 
  1. not have any conditions or restrictions on registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)* or the Medical Health Council of New Zealand, MCNZ  


*Any AHPRA conditions or restrictions are to be declared to Training Accreditation Services for further review and consideration by the TPC. 

Prior experience in accreditation is desirable but not essential. Training and support will be provided.
