Description

The TPC – Occupational & Environmental Medicine oversees regional processes for recruitment, training, career development and support of occupational and environmental medicine trainees.

This is a great opportunity for Fellows who are willing to support current Occupational & Environmental Medicine Advanced Trainees and the training program.

In this role, you'll help shape the physicians of the future and positively contribute to the direction, workforce and culture of Occupational & Environmental Medicine in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. 

TPC responsibilities:

  • Develop and improve training program curriculum including making recommendations to the Training Program Management Committee (TPMC) for moderate and major changes
  • Accredit Advanced Training sites or programs in Occupational & Environmental Medicine
  • Assess recognition of prior learning
  • Advise on matters relating to Overseas Trained Physicians, as requested
  • Monitor risks and issues within the training program and escalate these to the TPMC
  • Review and monitor the training program requirements, assessment and curricula in consultation with the relevant Specialty Society(ies) and other stakeholders, and recommend changes to the College Education Committee, via the Faculty Education Committee

Key responsibilities of the Chair:

  • Lead and facilitate the implementation of the functions of the FTPC as listed above
  • Lead Faculty Training Program Committee meetings
  • Guide Committee decisions
  • Represent the Faculty Training Program Committee when reporting to the Training Program Management Committee
  • Modify individual training requirements, as appropriate, in accordance with College policies and procedures.

Meetings are held 4 times a year, with 1 face to face meeting usually held in September.

Members are appointed for a 3-year term, with the option to renew for a further term.
