Update to COVID-19 leave from training. New Isolation Leave provisions – Progression Through Training Policy

Date published:
12 Jul 2024

Trainees are now able to access up to two full-time equivalent weeks/ten working days of Isolation Leave from the start of the 2024 clinical year. This has been extended from COVID-19 leave to cover all communicable diseases that require isolation from the workplace. Trainees can take up to two weeks of leave per clinical year, in addition to medical leave, if they are required to be excluded from their place of work and training for an infectious or communicable disease (for example, COVID-19, Influenza, RSV, etc).

To access Isolation Leave, trainees will need to notify the College within their next Supervisor Report and provide appropriate evidence (see Flexible Training and Progression Through Training FAQs).

These changes are a result of trainee and supervisor feedback and are enabled by changes to the Progression Through Training policy
