New Member Director appointed to the Board

Dr Gregory Stewart FAFPHM appointed to RACP Board

At its meeting held on Friday, 10 July 2020 the RACP Board appointed Dr Gregory (Greg) Stewart to the casual vacancy position of Member Director on the Board. Dr Stewart’s term expires at the AGM to be held in May 2021.

Dr Stewart is a health manager and a public health physician. He is a Foundation Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (1990) and was President of the Faculty from May 2014 to May 2016. In this role, he was a previous member of the RACP Board.

He has held senior positions with NSW Health including Deputy-Director General, Population Health and Chief Health Officer of NSW from 2001 to 2005. He recently retired from his position as Director, Primary Integrated and Community Health for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, a position he held since 2011. This role included managerial responsibility for a range of clinical services, including Drug and Alcohol Services, Oral Health, Child and Family Health and Aboriginal Health.

With his wealth of experience, we welcome Dr Stewart to the RACP Board and look forward to his contribution in this leadership role for our College.
