‘Vaccine Effectiveness in Central Queensland -Test-negative Case Control Study’

Nicolas Smoll is a Public Health Senior Medical Officer and Public Health Trainee at the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. His PhD thesis was in the field of epidemiology, biostatistics and machine learning and completed at the University of Melbourne. Currently he is a Moderna Global Research Fellow and his current research is in the fields of vaccine effectiveness and outbreak analytics research.

He is interested in understanding the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines, infectious disease modelling using transmission networks, and outbreak analytics. His long-term goal is to bridge the gap between raw data and policy decision making in public health by automating data analysis and interpretation.
