Deadly Doctors

The Deadly Doctors team is made up of staff working in partnership with the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health Committee to improve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health equity and grow the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander physician workforce.

The team are a key contact point for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander members.

Meet the team

Lee | Indigenous Affairs Australia

Lee is a clinician with over 30 years' experience in health, working across many sectors including within the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation. As the Head of Indigenous Affairs Australia,  Lee plays an integral role in policy and advocacy at the College and works to strengthen partnerships with Indigenous members and key stakeholders, and develops policy and strategy to support the College’s commitment to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander Peoples and Māori.


Wendy | Marnu Wiru (Wattandee and Badimia language groups)

Wendy is the College’s Marnu Wiru (Knowledge Holder). Wendy is an Elder from the Wattandee Amangu and Badimia Yamatji language groups in the mid-West of Western Australia, who grew up in W.A. and S.A. Wendy has extensive experience in the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector and in education. Wendy works across the College to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health priorities and cultural considerations are incorporated into College procedures and processes.


Alex | Growing the Indigenous Physician Workforce

Alex works in partnership with the Marnu Wiru, and the College’s Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander members and stakeholders to develop and deliver a range of workforce initiatives to support cultural safety and the growth of the Māori, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander physician workforces.


Hope Finneran | Indigenous Affairs Australia

Hope provides administration support in the Indigenous Affairs Australia team and works to support policy and advocacy to deliver better health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples and their communities.
