Join colleagues from across the RACP at the New Zealand (NZ) Trainees' Day on Saturday, 6 April 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Queenstown.

Speakers you will hear from are listed below.

  • Dr Simon Rowley ,one of NZ's leading paediatricians and neonatologists. Simon is a trustee and presenter for the Brainwave Trust, and author of Mind That Child: A Medical Memoir.
  • Dr Siouxsie Wiles, a microbiologist and bioluminescence enthusiast. Siouxsie is a blogger, podcaster and science media commentator aiming to demystify science for the general public.
  • Dr Glenn Williams, former NZ Army and NZ Navy Medical Officer and current dual trainee in ICU and anaesthesia.
  • Dr Jeff Brown, consultant paediatrician and Clinical Director of Child Health at Palmerston North Hospital, RACP New Zealand President and spokesperson for the RACP’s #MakeItTheNorm campaign for health equity.

Trainees’ Day is an annual professional skills development event, established in 2019 by trainees for trainees.

This year marks 10 years of trainees coming together to share learning and experiences. With content ranging from discussion of big picture issues to professional skills building, honest storytelling and the annual RACP Trainees' Dinner – you won't want to miss Trainees’ Day 2019. It is an opportunity to connect with colleagues, take time out to think broadly and strategically about your career, and get advice from experienced physicians.

As Trainees' Day is a recognised skills day for basic and advanced trainees by New Zealand District Health Boards (DHBs) attendance costs are reimbursable.
