Your voice can help shape the future of specialist care in Aotearoa New Zealand.
As part of our 2026 election statement, Let Us Care: A Plan to Improve Specialist Care for New Zealanders, we have developed this advocacy pack to make it easier for you to engage with your local MP or candidates.
The pack includes template correspondence you can personalise with your own clinical experience, local circumstances and the issues that matter most to your patients and community.
We have already begun our election advocacy, meeting with the Health Spokesperson from each political party to share our message. Your voice can now help amplify it in your local electorate.
You do not need to be an experienced advocate. A clear, authentic message from a medical specialist can help decision-makers understand the real-world impact of health policy. Where possible, personalise your correspondence with a brief example from your clinical practice or community.
Together, RACP members can make sure the experiences of patients, families and health professionals are heard – and that the changes needed to improve health outcomes remain on the agenda.
