Applications for 2023 funding are open Wednesday 1 June 2022 to Monday 25 July 2022.
Research Development Scholarships/Grants provide funding for smaller research projects for beginning researchers. Applicants can undertake a short-term or part-time research project.

RACP AFOEM Research Development Grant
Purpose: To support and encourage research in the field of occupational and environmental medicine.
Applicants can undertake a short-term or part-time research project, such as to fulfil the research requirement for their training or Fellowship. The funding can be used to provide:
- stipend support
- other support such as laboratory set-up costs
- funding for a short-term research assistant
Value: Up to $30,000 for 1 year.
Eligibility: Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Fellows and trainees of the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Tenable: Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and overseas.
The Grant is supported by the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Endowment Fund.
Queensland Regional Committee Research Development Grant
Purpose: To assist trainees and New Fellows undertake short-term or part time research projects, including projects required to complete a research component of their Fellowship
Value: Projects up to a value of $10,000 will be considered
Eligibility: RACP Queensland Fellows and trainees
Tenable: Queensland
The Grant is supported by the Queensland Regional Committee Endowment fund.
RACP AFRM Research Development Scholarship
Purpose: To support and encourage research in the field of rehabilitation medicine.
Value: Up to $10,000 for 1 year.
Eligibility: Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Fellows and trainees of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine.
Tenable: Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and overseas.
The Scholarship is supported by the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine Endowment Fund.

Aotearoa New Zealand Research Development Scholarship
Purpose: To provide support and encourage research. Funds can be used for project support or stipend.
Value: Up to NZD$20,000.
Eligibility: Aotearoa New Zealand Fellows and trainees of the RACP's Divisions, Faculties and Chapters, residing in Aotearoa New Zealand at the time of application, who are enrolled in a research higher degree (Masters, PhD or equivalent).
Tenable: Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and overseas.
The Scholarship is supported by contributions from RACP Aotearoa New Zealand members.
