New Curriculum training sessions

We’re offering online training sessions via Zoom for all trainees and educators across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

These sessions will cover on-demand workshop content and associated activities with a strong focus on collaboration and discussion to enhance the practical and interactive learning experience.

All sessions will be facilitated by our staff and are designed to meet the needs of a broad audience, providing valuable insights and practical learning opportunities for all participants.

Sessions details

The training sessions are intended for:

  • Basic Trainees (BTs)
  • Advanced Trainees (ATs)
  • Supervisors, Directors of Physician Education (DPEs)
  • Heads of Department/Units
  • Training Program Coordinators (TPCs) and other Medical Education Staff 

What's expected:

  • participants must watch the on-demand workshop video (5-10 minutes) before attending the session
  • discuss and complete the workshop activity during the training session
  • participants can choose to attend 1 or more sessions for their training role

We’ll record attendance at the training sessions as part of CPD Category 2 – Educational Activities, and may add additional sessions based on demand.

Introduction to the new curriculum
Pre-requisite videos:

Gain an understanding of the new curricula, including:

  • structure
  • key components
  • how it supports a more tailored and comprehensive approach to learning and development.
For BT and AT Trainees only.
Plan Learning
Pre-requisite:  Plan learning video
Understand the purpose of rotation plans, their role in driving learning, and explore strategies to achieve learning goals.  

Support Learning 
Pre-requisite:  Support Learning video

Learn how to review local training opportunities and evaluate how they align with the new curriculum learning goals. This session equips participants with the tools and strategies to effectively map training opportunities to targeted outcomes.

Observation Capture
Pre-requisite: Observation capture video

Discover how observation captures can be effectively used in the workplace to support learning and development. 

Learning Capture

Pre-requisite: Learning capture video

Learn how learning captures integrate into the workflow and serve as a tool to guide and enhance learning.  

Training Program Coordinators (TPCs) Orientation

Pre-requisite videos:

Gain a comprehensive understanding of your role as a Training Program Coordinator. This session covers key responsibilities, tools, and processes to ensure a smooth and successful coordination experience.
