TMP Portal: Cycle 2 brings clearer progress tracking, simpler applications and an enhanced Progress Review Panel experience

The TMP Cycle 2 release goes live on 28 September 2026 and represents another important milestone in the College's ongoing commitment to continuously improving the Training Management Platform (TMP).

This release has been shaped by feedback from trainees, supervisors, panel members and staff, helping you focus on areas where greater visibility, simpler navigation and reduced administrative effort were needed.  

Training applications – improved experience and clearer guidance

Cycle 2 improves the training application experience for applicants.

What’s changed
One name field
Enter your full name exactly as it appears on your Ahpra or MCNZ registration. This also fixes problems for applicants with only one name.
Prevention of duplicate training applications
If you already have an active training program, you’ll see a message with a link to your existing record, and a link to contact us if you need help.
Cancel a draft
You can now cancel a draft training application from your Applications page.
Additional guidance
Links to the Basic Training and Advanced Training application guides now appear on the form.

A more straightforward application, with more options to fix issues yourself and better guidance on the form if you need help.

Assessment requirements – a clearer view of your progress

For trainees, and for supervisors viewing their trainees under My Trainees. Phase assessment requirement dashboards have been updated to make trainee progress easier to see..

  • Phase Requirements now default to the trainee’s current phase. Use the filter to view other or all phases.
  • Simplified tables and improved sorting
  • New In Progress quantity indicators
  • Colour-coded requirement statuses approaching progression deadlines (30 days from due date)
What this means for you

You can more easily understand progress against phase requirements and identify outstanding activities before progression reviews.

Progress reviews and decisions

Decision and Review outcomes by email.

You'll receive a detailed email when a review is completed or a decision is made, whether you can progress, can progress with conditions, or cannot progress. It includes your panel's feedback and key dates, so you don't need to log in to find out.

What this means for you

You’ll hear about a review or decisions, in more detail, straight to your inbox.

Progress Review Panels – critical information at a glance

These enhancements were developed in response to feedback from panel members and staff who wanted quicker access to information, clearer visibility of trainee progress and more efficient review processes.

  • New Review Trainees area providing direct access to assigned trainees
  • New Panel Details section consolidating decision history, trainee movement and panel information
  • Assessment progress visible directly from dashboards
  • Colour-coded indicators highlighting trainees who may require attention
  • Ability for panel members to flag trainees for review
  • New quick actions including Add Decision and Add Review
  • New Decision Status indicators showing when decisions have been recorded but not yet published

You can see assessment progress, decision history and flagged trainees in one place, and add decisions or reviews directly from your dashboard.

Trainee progression – easier to review and manage

Cycle 2 introduces a redesigned panel dashboard that clearly groups trainees according to progression priorities.

What’s changed
Trainees Pending Decision – Not On Track
Decision due within 30 days, with one or more requirements not met or an open condition.
Trainees Pending Decision – On Track
Decision due within 30 days, with requirements met.
Trainees Not Pending Decision
More than 30 days until a decision is due.
  • Visibility of completed, outstanding and in-progress assessment requirements
  • Existing progression flags remain visible, including open conditions and learning goals requiring attention

Trainees are grouped by how soon their decision is due and whether they're on track, so you can see where to focus first.

Progress Reviews – less scrolling, faster navigation

The individual Trainee Progress Review page has been redesigned to help reviewers focus on the information that matters most.

What’s changed
  • New Reports Checklist for quick navigation to key sections
  • Needs Review indicators highlighting important information
  • Improved page layout and guidance
  • Removal of draft ratings, draft reports and draft progression information that contributed to clutter

Observation captures
  • Updated assessor feedback questions: ‘Select a rating for this learning goal based on this observation’ and ‘What could the trainee do to improve their performance?’
  • Simpler trainee declaration. It now confirms that any assessor feedback must be reviewed and verified by the nominated assessor before the assessment is finalised.
Progress reports
  • Rotation Progress Reports no longer get renumbered.
  • Advanced Training second rotation supervisors can now see a report in My Assigned Actions after the first supervisor has reviewed it, so they can agree or add their own review.
Rotation plans
  • Easier navigation. Selecting a rotation now lets you choose View details or Edit seamlessly.
  • New Time Validated/Certification sections display additional information relating to your rotation plan, including feedback from RACP staff.
Education Supervisors

When nominating an Education Supervisor, Basic Trainees will now only see supervisors who are eligible for the role.

Saving your work

A new message confirms when your changes are saved but not yet submitted, across 15 portal pages.
